About the event
Join us at the College Area Community Garden for a canning demonstration workshop with Master Food Preservers. You'll discover practical and cost-effective methods to safely preserve food with a water bath or steam canner. This interactive demonstration session aims to equip participants with scientifically approved techniques for extending the lifespan of their harvest. Our focus will be on canning high-acid foods, such as tomatoes, jams, or pickles. The specific recipes will be determined based on the fruits or vegetables available for preservation on August 6th. The workshop will take place from 9am to approximately 10:30-11:30am.
During this workshop, we will delve into the following topics:
Food Safety
Determining ripeness
