The Food Preservation Workshop is the inaugural event in our exciting food harvest and preservation series. Over the upcoming months, we will present a variety of regular classes and "pop-up" workshops covering intriguing topics such as:
- Dehydration
- Pickling
- Fermentation
- Water bath canning
- Pressure canning
- And much more!

The first food preservation class is complimentary and open to the public.Â
As an attendee, you will receive recipes and other fun tems to take home.
This hands-on demonstration workshop will focus on safe food preservation techniques including, dehydration, pickling and fermentation and kick off our food preservation class series. Over the course of the next several months, we will be offering regular and "pop-up" classes and workshops on topics including, dehydration, pickling, fermentation, water bath canning, pressure canning and much more.Â
This workshop is free and open to the public. You will receive recipes and other fun items to take home.Â
About the Instructor:
This class will be led by the founding members of the UCCE San Diego Master Gardeners, including our CACG Interim President, Deanna Chandra.Â
Details:
This workshop is held outdoors, so we suggest:
- Dress in layers. Assume you will be cold, or hot. Either way, be ready.
- Bring water
- Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that can get messy and/or wet
- Garden gloves are welcomed but not necessary for workshops
HEALTH: If you are sick, please do not come to the workshop.
CLASS SIZE: 3 min. If the minimum is not met, this workshop will be cancelled.
