About the event

The Cooperative Growing and Education Program at College Area Community Garden is excited to present an engaging and informative presentation by Leah Taylor, Educational Specialist from the University of California Cooperative Extension. This class is specifically tailored to address the common garden pests that are wreaking havoc on our beloved summer crops like tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, beans, and potatoes.

During this session, Leah will equip us with valuable knowledge and effective strategies to tackle these common garden pests. We will delve into pest identification, prevention, and control, understanding their life cycles, behaviors, and potential damage. Leah will introduce us to Integrated Pest Management (IPM), an approach that integrates biological, cultural, physical, and chemical control methods.

We'll explore environmentally friendly techniques, including the use of beneficial insects and targeted pesticide applications when necessary. Attending this class will provide us with the expertise to maintain a healthy garden ecosystem and ensure a successful harvest. Join me in this opportunity to learn from Leah Taylor, an expert in the field, and enhance our gardening skills!
