Join CACG Orchard Manager and UCCE San Diego Master Gardener, Robert Lawson for this hands-on workshop. With a focus on cutting tools, Robert will teach proper care and maintenance principles and techniques that will keep your tools in top condition.
Robert will begin with an overview of relevant orchard and hand tools. This will be followed by a demonstration of proper care and maintenance techniques. The final portion of the workshop will focus on providing guidance and assistance to participants as they practice new skills and techniques.
Participants will be getting all the CACG cutting tools in good working order for the season.  You may bring your own garden cutting tools, including scissors, to work on.  Sorry no anvil cutters, no knives, and no saws. Please clean your tools prior to the workshop!
About the Instructor
Robert Lawson founded the Master Gardener Tool Care Group, and under his watch the group sharpened over 500 pair of cutting garden tools.
Workshop Requirement
If you are not a CACG Member, in order to attend this adult workshop you must have a signed and submitted waiver. The waiver may be found here
Workshop Details
This workshop is held outdoors, so we suggest:
• Dress in layers. Assume you will be cold, or hot. Either way, be ready.
• Bring water
• Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that can get messy and/or wet
• Garden gloves are welcomed but not necessary for workshops
HEALTH: If you are sick, please do not come to the workshop.
CLASS SIZE: 3 min. If the minimum is not met, this workshop will be cancelled.
