Who We Are

The Peninsula Community Garden Association is an organization that supports urban agriculture and community development in coastal San Diego.

Urban agriculture includes the cultivation, processing and distribution of agricultural products in urban and suburban areas (USDA).  Our focus is creating community gardens to provide local San Diegans the opportunity to grow their own food and meet their nutritional needs.

Robb Field
Community Garden

In 2019, Deanna and Tanya submitted a proposal to the city of San Diego for the creation of a Community Garden in Ocean Beach. The proposal was accepted and has been rolled into the Robb Field Gateway Project. The project is moving through the approval phase of construction. We remain optimistic that the City will break ground soon.

Micro-community Garden Grant

The Peninsula Community Garden Association is pleased to offer micro-community garden grants to selected applicants. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Grant money will be awarded in amounts ranging from $50 to $250. The amount of funding awarded will be based on the size of the garden project and number of individuals benefiting from the garden.
